My name is Brian Bishop. First and foremost in my life I am a husband and a father. Second, I am the owner and daily operator of True Grain Construction alongside my wife Bethany. We started True Grain Construction in May of 2022.
My passion for building started in 1994. I took metal shop classes, agricultural classes, woodshop classes. I learned my brain was geared towards constructing things. My Senior year of high school I built a custom hutch. Teacher at the time and still to this day in his retirement says, "it is the finest piece of work to ever come out of that woodshop!" The "itch" has never left me.
I started in construction in 1997. In the early 2000's I had a crazy idea to go back to school. As I transitioned from a blue collar career in my early 20's to a white collar career in my mid 20's my heart was still in construction. I would continue to pick up side work doing remodels and bathroom updates. We bought our first house in 2009 where I started building custom furniture to outfit the house with. I then built a deck, a shed, a patio cover, outside storage; the list goes on. I ran out of room to build things--we sold the house. We moved to Kalama where we now reside and I continued to build a library wall, a dining room table, a gigantic patio cover, and this year an outdoor cooking area.
In 2022 I was able to realize my dream of becoming a full-time General Contractor. Through the help and support of my family and many friends I was able to launch and not look back.
I have learned a lot in these two years and continue to learn everyday. I don't always get it right, and sometimes I miss; but I learn from it and I don't quit.
I have tenacity!
We specialize in all residential projects and all phases of construction. See our Services page to get a strong sense of what we do.
Give us a space, tell us what you want and we can do it. We have a team of specialized folks who have a passion for detail and accuracy. If we can't do it then I have a sub-contractor who can do it.

We can help you with any project need you have!
To achieve success in any project or process there must be a proper conduit of communication between the client and the General Contractor. This conduit is built on trust. Myself and my team understand that our character and integrity are first and foremost to developing trust; leading to stronger communication.
Our focus is to understand your short term and long term goals for your project and how it will impact your lives. We use this information to shape the project and either shrink or expand the scope of the project.
Sometimes less is more and going bigger is not always better.
We care!
First and foremost my goal is to understand what you want. I am fully aware that your home is not my home; however I treat your home like mine while I am working on it.
My responsibility to our clients is to ensure I deliver what was asked of me and a bit more. We strive to make this happen while still coming in at the agreed upon budget.
During the project; cleanliness is a priority and pure professionalism by my team members and the sub-contractors I use. If a challenge arises it is communicated with the client. If there is an opportunity for a positive change it is communicated.
At the end of each day the goal is to make the job-site feel as if nobody has been there; within reason.
